I was born, raised, and lived in Hawaii for the majority of my live. I moved to Washington in mid 2018. I have a degree in Fashion Design and was a multi award winning costumer at my local Community College. The last one was for Phantom of the Opera. Always searching for the perfect fabric for a costume, I ventured into painting on silk in 2015 and found a new passion. I started by attempting to create the design of a vintage kimono. I remember when I was a child, my grandmother would dress me up in the most colorful kimonos to celebrate Girl's Day. It made me feel so special. I still love color and as you can see, my paintings are quite colorful.
Last year I won First Place in the 2D division at the Silk Painter's International Festival, for Solace. Solace is currently on display at the textile museum in Tillamook, OR. Solace, Goodbye Dad, In the Field, and Green n White will be on display at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts Gallery in Gaitlinburg Tennessee, Mid September through October 2022.
