Teaching at SewExpo 2024 again!

Exciting News!

I will be teaching at SewExpo next year. I am assuming on Wednesday Feb 28. A morning class on silk painting using resist and an afternoon class using a no flow method. For this flower I used a paint brush to apply cold wax for my outlines.

Other News-I am teaching a Wearable Art-A Journey in Silk class at Northwind Art School in Port Townsend. It is 4 sessions spaced out between Dec 16-Jan 14th. We will be creating an unstructured jacket/coverup. Session 1-You will learn how to measure yourself and make minor pattern adjustments. We will talk about design ideas for your silk and what color ways look good on you. Session 2-Paint on your silk. Session 3-Cut and begin sewing your silk. I will be teaching you the preferred interfacing, thread, sewing & machine needles, seam methods to get the best results. Session 4-Finishing your sewing and wear your wearable art. We will be having a show & tell with group questions and answer session. The Winter class for Northwind Art School will be posted on their website in a few weeks: www.northwindart.org. The class will be limited to 6 students. I am so excited. I can use my fashion design and silk painting skills in one class.
